Australian Soil Information Symposium

A CSIRO and DAFF convened event to demonstrate how the Australian National Soil Information System (ANSIS) can be useful for you. It also explored how soil data and information are used by government, research institutions and private enterprises.

Soil is one of our most valuable natural resource assets. It supports our agriculture, our biodiversity and environment, our heritage, and the way we live.

To address a lack of available and consistent data, the recently launched ANSIS provides access to nationally consistent soil data and information to help sustainably manage our soil.

To demonstrate how ANSIS can be useful for you and understand how different organisations are using soil data and information, CSIRO and DAFF convened a Soil Data and Information Event on 12th March 2025 in Canberra.
